HELP THE ENVIRONMENT BY RENTING   SHREDDER/CHIPPERS

The disposal of “Green Waste” is the hottest topic in the recycling industry today. While most communities still pick up green waste at the curb it has certainly become more difficult and more expensive to dispose of and most areas no longer permit burning. Landfills, which have been the traditional recipient of this material in the past, no longer accept green waste. So the result is that it is costing everyone more money to dispose of product that doesn’t need to be disposed of. In case you haven’t noticed the cost of mulch has doubled and in some areas tripled in the last 2 years, so why burden you and your community with these extra costs when you can turn this product into beautiful yard mulch and nutrient rich compost for your shrubs and plants.

What’s Useable and What Isn’t

Any yard waste can be fed through a chipper / shredder and is useable immediately as a decorative mulch. Mulching also reduces needed watering and weeding. This creates many spring rentals to cleanup debris from winter storms and to reduce trimmings created from spring cleanup.  To create compost you’ll get the best results if you use the right mix of ingredients. The key materials are nitrogen-rich greens, carbon-rich browns, water & air. Materials will compost much quicker if they are reduced through a chipper / shredder first.

Greens provide nitrogen and act as a source of protein for the microbes

Browns are a source of carbon and provide energy for the microbes

  • Green leaves
  • Dried grasses & leaves
  • Coffee grounds
  • Straw
  • Tea bags
  • Woodchips
  • Plant trimmings
  • Twigs & branches
  • Raw fruit & vegetable scraps
  • Sawdust
  • Fresh grass clippings
  • Shredded newspaper
  • Hair
  • Corncobs & stalks

Compost should be tilled or worked into the soil for best results. Leaves and debris from the fall season will be ready for spring use if shredded first and than composted over the winter.

If you promote recycling in your community it will create many rental opportunities for chipper / shredders and garden tillers.
